It’s always free to take an outdoor self guided tour of our site. The Green Bank Observatory, located in Green Bank, West Virginia, is home to the worlds largest fully steerable radio telescope. Tickets may also be purchased onsite the day of your visit. The NIOC is the location of electronic intelligence-gathering systems, and is today said to be a key station in the ECHELON system operated by the National.
